Karts go on show
THE sixth round of the Queensland ProKart Endurance Championship, one of the headline events in Camco Group MotorMania CQ, will be held on July 23 at Rockhampton’s Formula K Raceway.
The ProKart Endurance Championship is Australia’s largest endurance karting championship.
ProKart competitors will take to the Formula K Raceway in Rockhampton to join in 12 hours of continuous motor racing.
It is being held as part of the 10-day long Camco Group MotorMania CQ motoring festival in Central Queensland from Friday, July16, to Sunday, July 25.
The ProKart endurance series is like any other form of professional long-distance racing with pit stops, safety cars, driver changes and refuelling to add a new dimension to the sport of karting with most competitors drawing parallels with Australia’s own Bathurst 1000 V8 Supercar event.
With more than 20 teams likely to take the starter’s flag and about 60 drivers competing, this event is set to be a highlight of the Queensland Championships.
Camco Group MotorMania CQ 2010 is the biggest motorsport event to date in the Central Queensland region of Gladstone, Rockhampton and Yeppoon.
The massive 10-day program should raise the adrenaline levels sky-high in racing enthusiasts throughout the region.
