'Just a bit of crack, a bit of meth': accused
WHEN Gladstone police searched his house and asked Shawn Purkis what they would find, he replied: "just a bit of crack, a bit of meth".
Officers found methylamphetamine and drug utensils.
Purkis, 39, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court to having ice and possession of drug utensils on February 25.
Prosecutor Gavin Reece said 1.3grams of the white crystal substance was found, with Purkis saying he smoked regularly.
Lawyer Jun Pepito said Purkis was under financial stress after the loss of his $120,000 job. He received 6 months Probation, a conviction not recorded.
