Man found not guilty of groping grandmother

A MAN charged with sexually assaulting a woman in front of her grandson was found not guilty by a jury in Gladstone District Court on Tuesday.

Defence lawyer Jeff Clarke said the reliability of the five-year-old witness had been brought into question, because he may have just repeated what he had been told, not what he actually saw.

The prosecution had claimed the woman had been taken from room to room at a friend's house, where she was allegedly groped on the breast several times and kissed without consent.

Her grandson was among three Crown witnesses called to give evidence.
