Jenna, 15, has a deft hand with cake decorating

JENNA Mitchell has a sweet creative outlet.

The 15-year-old already has a wealth of knowledge around cake baking and decorating.

She was one of hundreds of people who shared photos of their cake creations on The Observer's Facebook page this week.

Jenna attended a cupcake course with her aunt one year ago - that is where her hobby started.

"I like the creativity. I'm not very good at drawing, but I really enjoy coming up with ideas," she said.

"The most challenging part is making it look perfect.

"I'd love to learn how to do an ombre cake, where it goes light to dark in colour. There's also the 'topsy-turvy' cake where it's all uneven."

The Toolooa State High School student enjoys working with fondant, but recently challenged herself with a butter cream owl cake.
