Jail avoided for man just returned from sea

BENJAMIN John Morgan had just returned from sea and hadn't slept for 30 hours when he went to a Gladstone pub for dinner on October 5.

A few beers later Morgan was attempting to stop some police officers from arresting him.

He was already on a suspended sentence for a similar offence.

He appeared in Gladstone Magistrate's Court yesterday pleading guilty to three charges.

Magistrate Russell Warfield said this was his last chance.

He received two months imprisonment, which was wholly suspended for 12 months with his conviction recorded.
