Jaden eyes Bali’s surf and nightclubs for 18th
JADEN Masters will spend his 18th in Bali with his girlfriend Tayla and her family - and it will be his first taste of life outside Australia.
The Gladstone Tech College graduate turns 18 on March 15.
"We are going for 10 nights. I am looking forward to going to the beach and surfing over there," he said.
"It's a present from my parents. I am not paying for it. I know that much."
Being able to experience life as an adult is something Jaden is excited about.
"I'll finally be able to have a legal drink and go to pubs and nightclubs," he said.
Jaden grew up in Calliope and went to Gladstone State High School from Year 8 to 10 before going to Gladstone Tech College from Year 11 to 12.
Now he is looking to start a career in diesel fitting - one of his passions is working on cars.
"I am doing a bit of work at the moment in hydroblasting. I work for my girlfriend's dad," he said.
"I have been looking for an apprenticeship in diesel mechanics in the Gladstone region."
In his spare time, he likes being outdoors.
"I play footy for Calliope and I go pig hunting out near the Boyne Valley - that's pretty well it," he said.
Do you know of anybody turning 18 soon? If so, the Observer would love to hear about it.
