Plans for new IVF support group
CORINNA Klemm has been trying to have a baby through IVF since late last year; she is now looking to start an IVF support group for women going through or have been in a similar situation.
Having also been to Rockhampton, she has found no groups or support for women going through IVF.
“There is just nothing in Gladstone. I have been thinking about this for a few months and after no luck of finding a group I knew I needed to start one myself,” Ms Klemm said.
Leaflets have been distributed around Gladstone for the last few weeks and with three women already on board Ms Klemm hopes she will get more women involved by September when she hopes to hold the first session.
“I know that there would be a lot of people going through the same thing. It will be good to talk to others going through the same thing.”
Ms Klemm hopes to hold a session once a week/ fortnight at the women’s health centre for women to talk about their feelings, emotions and experiences.
“It will be a gathering of women – very casual, to talk about what they are going through, talk about expectations and to learn new things.
“This experience is like a rollercoaster, it is constantly full of ups and downs.”
