Perfect crash day: It's sunny, Friday and road is good

A SUNNY Friday afternoon in March on a good road - these are the conditions for a typical crash in Gladstone.

March, July, June, August and December are the most common months, and 3pm on Friday is the most common time for road crashes across the region.

The road will invariably be dry and sealed.

In the 13 years to 2013, the worst year on our roads was 2008.

Rain and fog might be dangerous driving conditions but in Gladstone you are more likely to have a crash on a perfect day.

There were 2940 accidents on sunny days between 2001 and 2013.

It was raining during 326 crashes, foggy for 27 and there was smoke or dust for just 13 smashes.
