It's showtime! Join the family fun

STEP right up, the Gladstone Show has hit town.

Bumper crowds are expected to attend the 118th annual event which opens at 9am today at the Gladstone Showgrounds.

Treat the family to a fun day out with some new attractions – not to mention plenty of old favourites – to experience at this year's show.

Making its debut this year will be a massive 14,000 litre fish tank which can be viewed throughout the day.

Another new attraction is the thrilling crane drop which will take place in the centre ring during the evening's program of events.

There will also be the ever-popular Professor Wallace's Puppet Show and Gilmore's Animal Farm.

The Rainbow Man will entertain the youngsters throughout the day.

Other attractions include the dog show which will feature hundreds of dog entries from across the state, horse events in the centre ring and all the razzle and dazzle of sideshow alley.

For those a bit more adventurous, why not take a peek at the live snake shows or grab your spot around the centre ring for a bit of action.

Watch in awe as Monster Trucks Outback Thunda and Avenger create some mayhem and destruction in the centre ring, hitting the ramps and crushing cars in their wake.

Entry is $10 for adults, $8 for students and $3 for primary school students.
