It's my body and I'll ink if I want to ...

TATTOOED Toowoomba residents have hit back at a letter writer's claims that they will regret their body ink when they get older.

A letter to The Chronicle urged people to "think before they ink" and to consider how their tattoos will change over the years.

Tattoo lovers were not impressed by the point of view.

"I don't give a damn what my tattoos will look like when I'm 80 or so on, I'll just be happy to have been able to reach that age," Craig Campbell said on Facebook.

"I have a lot of tattoos and it's a personal choice to have them.

"If people don't like it, then I don't care."

Noel Talbot said his tattoos would reflect a "life well lived"

"I love seeing (older people's) aged ink pictures of 1000 stories and adventures had," he said.

Chris McClimont said tattoos were an individual's choice.

"People have the right to do as they please," he said.

"I am an older person and I have a tattoo.

"It has meaning for me and that is what counts.

"You are entitled to have your views, but so am I and I choose to sink the ink."
