MOTORSPORT: The third and final round of the Stadium Short Course Championships produced some thrills and spills among the 28 competitors at the Gladstone District Dirt Riders Motocross Club.

The top-three overall placings went to Bundaberg's Scott Perkis, Brad Hancock from Mt Coolon and Hervey Bay's Steve Reibel.

But Gladstone trio Brady Vohland, Mark Hodge and Chris Kelly were first, second and third respectively in the Performance SXS, Performance 4WD and PRO 4WD.

Event organiser Brent Taylor said there were a couple of near misses, but no serious injuries occurred.

"It didn't take long for the action to start in the prologue and qualifying session with Ben Hoare from Rocky in his 415 Stadium truck flat landing the main jump causing the ambulance to be called due to suspected back injuries to both Ben and his navigator. 659 PRO SXS driver Brett Thorn came through unscathed after his car rolled seven times."
