GLADSTONE Brothers surged to a 84-0 win against Emu Park at Marley Brown yesterday.

Brothers' playing coach Josh Bateman was thrilled with his side's complete effort.

It was full of highlights as the side ran rings around Emu Park on a warm afternoon.

"It was nothing short of outstanding led by a dominant forward pack," Bateman said.

"We controlled the ruck beautifully and we stuck to our structured plan."

The visitors did miss several of its regular players.

However it was no excuse as Emu Park's coach heaped praise on the Brothers' performance and suggested that it will be a force this season.

It was a weekend of big and one-sided results.

The other Gladstone-based side Tannum Sands did a number on Fitzroy-Gracemere to win by 48 points.

Tannum were superb in the 72-24 win.

The third of the Gladstone clubs - Gladstone Valleys were thrashed and failed to score against Norths Chargers at Rockhampton's Browne Park.

Chargers lived up to its name to romp away 46-0.

Rugby league continues with round six to feature an all-Gladstone showdown between Brothers and Valleys this Saturday at Marley Brown.
