Runners ready for inaugural event

BOTANIC to Bridge is finally here.

After weeks of waiting, more than 4000 people from across the region will now have the chance to run their hearts out in support of local schools.

Rebecca Josey, from Perfect Fit Training Solutions, has been training her group of 22 runners in preparation for the event.

“Some will be quite use to it but for others it will be a good challenge,” Ms Josey said.

For many runners, or walkers, it will be their first time in an event of this calibre.

“A lot will be entering because they want to achieve something and reach a physical goal and I really encourage that,” she said.

Botanic to Bridge is a really rewarding experience and Ms Josey has said that it takes a lot of courage to step up to the line and participate.

“It can at times be very scary but when you conquer that it will change all aspects of your life,” she said.

Ms Josey has been running with her competitors in the lead up to the event this morning and has said that everyone had put in a lot of effort and that all have been training hard all of the time.
