In my kitchen: German sausages are a real treat
WE head into the kitchen with Shanayne Brown, who works at the German Sausage food stall.
Name: Shanayne Brown, 18 (right).
Occupation: Casual at German Sausage.
What does your job involve? We travel around the Wide Bay and central Queensland region with the stall at events.
The German sausages are really good. We don't eat normal sausages anymore.
They are made of pork, veal, chilli beef, garlic or cheese.
They are so nice with sauerkraut on them.
We worked at the HookUp on the weekend and cut up about 600 bread rolls on Saturday.
Cooking style: Anything savoury. I am a disaster with sweets.
What was the first thing you learnt to cook? Spaghetti bolognese.
My mum and nan taught me how to cook it when I was about 12. I cook it when I feel like it.
What is your favourite dish to cook? Carbonara. I cook it for my boyfriend all the time.
For me, cooking is just a hobby.
What's your worst cooking disaster? About two weeks ago I made chocolate slice and it turned out as hard as a rock.
We ran out of icing sugar so I had to make my own icing with brown sugar and cornflour.
I put it in the freezer and it didn't set. It turned into a rock cake.
My guilty pleasure is... I love lemons with sugar on them.
My Kitchen Rules or MasterChef? MKR. I love it. I think MasterChef is boring.
