In-form Dunk sends message to the Stars

CRICKET: Big-hitting Hobart Hurricanes left-hander Ben Dunk has sent a blunt warning to the Melbourne Stars ahead of tomorrow's Big Bash League semi-final at the MCG.

One of seven players in the running to be named player of the series today, Dunk (pictured) smashed 107 off 56 balls (13 fours and four sixes), for his club side Glenorchy against Clarence in the Tasmanian Premier League competition on Saturday.

The former Queenslander has made 348 runs in the BBL from seven matches, the highest total in the tournament.

His main challenger is expected to be Stars bowler Jackson Bird who leads the competition with 13 wickets from his seven matches.

The other shortlisted players are John Hastings (Stars), Moises Henriques (Sydney Sixers), Brad Hodge (Stars), Mike Hussey (Sydney Thunder), Chris Lynn (Brisbane Heat) and Luke Wright (Stars).
