Hair straightener thief ordered to cough up compo

GLADSTONE woman Jodie Petzler has been ordered to pay a store $377 compensation after she pleaded guilty in the Magistrates Court to stealing a hair straightener and make-up.

The court heard she stole the items on October 28 last year.

At the time Petzler, 39, was on District Court parole for more serious matters.

Police said her criminal history had previous offences for dishonesty and drugs.

Magistrate Penelope Hay said Petzler had previously received probation, suspended sentences as well as serving actual time in custody but her pleas had been made early and she had not stolen for over three years.

Petzler was sentenced to two months jail which was immediately suspended.
