Man faces ice supply charges, assault of police

GLADSTONE man George Stanley Kirk, 31, will stand trial in the District Court on a charge of supplying the drug ice.

Kirk was arraigned before Gladstone Magistrates Court via video link, on a charge that between May 4 and May 8, 2014 he unlawfully supplied methylamphetamine to another man.

No plea was given.

Lawyer Jun Pepito conceded that a prima facie case existed against Kirk.

A trial date will be set next month and Mr Pepito indicated Kirk will likely make a bail application.

Kirk is charged with drug offences and other matters including assaulting a police officer; enter a dwelling with intent; and threatening violence
