Man fined for failing to leave CBD precinct when told

IF you drink and you're obnoxious, it's best not to hang out around Gladstone's safe night out precinct.

And even if you don't turn up in court, chances are you will cop a decent fine.

Dean Charles Ackinclose failed to turn up at the Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday to face charges of refusing to leave the precinct on May 17.

The court heard he had been at the Lightbox in Goondoon St, became intoxicated and belligerent and was asked to leave.

A police patrol told him to leave the precinct but 10 minutes later he was seen trying to get into the Central Lane Hotel.

Magistrate Barbara Tynan fined him $200.
