RHIANNA Mikl has been to the Kirkwood Ice Skating rink three times in two days.

"I am going to come every single day," she said.

The seven-year-old Kin Kora student took her friend, Samara Warry, on the first day of their Christmas school holidays.

"It's Samara's second time skating. I held her hand at the start, but she uses the rail now," she said.

Rhianna said her favourite part of ice-skating was showing her skills.

"I can go backwards," she said.

Rhianna's dad Hans said his daughter couldn't get enough of the activity.

"She went 20 times the last time they were here in Gladstone and she went twice on Sunday," he said.

Mums Sarah Harper and Aracely Hernandez took their sons to the rink for the first time too yesterday.

Friends Oliver Harper, 3, and Sebastian Manchego, 4, had fun trying to stay upright.

Mrs Harper said the families had been friends for six months.

"Rather than buying presents for each other we are doing this as a Christmas outing," she said.
