Record number of new Aussies in Gladstone

TO KICK off Australia Day celebrations, Gladstone opened its doors to a record breaking 103 new citizens after the official citizenship ceremony at the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre last night.

People from around the world were warmly welcomed by members of the community as they took the final step to becoming Australian.

Every new Australian citizen was given a goodie bag with an Australian native plant, a coin with the date of the citizenship ceremony and a yellow bottle brush scent-infused certificate.
