What I'm reading: Jodie Hall is a lover of suspense
Name: Jodie Hall
Occupation: Dental assistant and full-time university student.
What are you reading? The Dark Highland - Karen Moning. So far I love it. It's a mystery novel. I love the suspense and the build-up to the plotline.
What is your favourite genre? Probably mystery or even just fiction because none of it is ever real. I like novels that include that otherworldly sense because there are so many possible plotlines. I don't like anything that's set in the modern world under normal, everyday circumstances. I would rather read something that can take me someplace else.
What is your least favourite genre? Action, I hate it. I find it very boring, which sounds silly, as you would think an action novel would be full of excitement... But it's very predictable and just doesn't appeal to me.
Worst book you have ever read? The last action book I read.
Hardcopy or digital? Hardcopy, for sure. I spend most of my life in front of a screen. It's nice to get away and be able to look at something real and something you can hold.
Did you read 50 Shades of Grey? I did and liked it, only because it was very different to anything I had ever read. It had a great build-up at the start and there were definitely some occurrences in the book I was not expecting... at all.
Movie or the book? In Harry Potter's case, the book. Books are always better. I have been disappointed in the past with movies after reading the book. Books always seem to cover every detail and allow you to come up with your own characters; what they look like and what they sound like. A movie does that for you and there's no imagination in that.
