Clinton is the place to be for the Weekes

MUM Kate Weekes moved to the Gladstone region from country New South Wales with her husband, who is working at Yarwun. On Tuesday they settled into their new home at Clinton.

Mrs Weekes has already met some friendly faces and said she loves everything about her new suburb.

"We love that it's an older, established area with trees and plant life everywhere," Mrs Weekes said.

"The trees provide a bit of privacy and the blocks are much bigger than in some of the newer estate areas like Kirkwood.

"It's clean and well maintained both by the council and by the residents who make an effort to keep their yards looking nice."

"My daughter 16-month-old daughter Anthea loves going down to the duck pond and playground at the bottom of the street. We don't feed the ducks but we love watching them."

She said people had already told her how wonderful nearby Clinton state School was so she is confident Anthea will be happy when she is ready to start school. "I love it here, I really do.

"It's great to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough we can easily access everything."
