I Ava great little pooch
GERMAN shepherd pup Ava is Jessika Johnson's ultimate best friend.
The four-month-old is a handful but she's as loving as dogs get, shaking hands and playing catch among her party tricks.
Ms Johnson couldn't resist the little puppy paws when she visited a breeder in Rockhampton two months ago.
I had a German shepherd when I was little and I wanted another one," she said.
Ava is too big for the fence at Ms Johnson's house in Benaraby, so another one is being built.
"She's tripled in size since we got her at the start of June," Ms Johnson said.
Ms Johnson, who has lived in Gladstone for eight years, adores many things about her pet, especially her friendly nature.
"I like her massive ears and that she loves me so much," she said.
"I take her to the beach on Sundays and last Sunday I went to the dog park with other German shepherd
"She loves playing with other dogs."
One of a dog's best traits is loyalty and Ava has it in bucket loads.
"It was really good to have her, I went through a bad time in my life and she was there for me," Ms Johnson said.
Ava even wants to be mates with other pets in the house, but that plan isn't going so well.
"We have a cat and she loves him but he doesn't like her," Ms Johnson laughed.
Ava's favourite treat is cheese and her favourite toy is socks.
Ms Johnson's love for her dog is so strong she wants her pup to be a part of her special day in 2015.
"I want her to be the flower girl at my wedding in April next year - I don't think I will be allowed but," she said.
"If it was my decision then yes, I would have her, but my mum thinks it s ridiculous!"
