Hunt family welcomes new arrival with open arms

PARENTS Cass, Kyle, and little Makenzie Hunt, 2, welcomed baby Tyson into the world at Gladstone Base Hospital on Monday morning.

Just two minutes to 10, 10 fingers and 10 toes, and all 53cm of Tyson were born to two ecstatic parents and family eagerly waiting nearby.

Mr Hunt said the best part about being a parent again was watching the significant moments.

"I love watching my family grow," he said.

"They're endless entertainment."

The couple have flourished together after long- time local Cass met Kyle through mutual friends in town after he moved here in 2005.

Mrs Hunt said Tyson was very much planned and a fabulous new addition.

"We thought now was a good time because there is a good age difference between them," she said.

"And we found out the sex again like Makenzie because we wanted to be prepared after the all girls' clothes."

Since his birth big sister Mackenzie has been nothing but a great help to mum and dad.

"She's been a great helper keeping him warm with kisses and hugs," Mrs Hunt said.

"We're all ready to go home now though."

And little Miss Makenzie had quite a say into her brother's name too.

"We'd always like it but it was Mak who kept saying it and saying it and we thought well that's the way to go," Mrs Hunt said.

Mrs Hunt said she couldn't be happier with how things have gone, stating that the pregnancy went well, only having cravings for a week or two.

"In both of my pregnancies I've craved fresh prawns," she said.

The couple said they have no plans of any more children, making a daughter and a son is the perfect amount.
