Hungry zombies march on Toowoomba

HORDES of zombies obsessed with brains are marching on The Garden City.

But don't be alarmed; it's all part of a fundraiser for the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation.

Now in its third year, the Zombie Walk Toowoomba will have more zombies, hunters and survivors than ever before.

The foundation's events manager Melanie Coultas said she thought zombies publicly parading the streets was a thing of the past.

She couldn't have been more wrong.

The walk will take place on Saturday, April 16, with some exciting new ideas planned including support from the Australian Academy of Cinemagraphic Makeup.

"The academy has participated in several Brisbane Zombie walks, so the team is able to offer expert special-effect make-up hints and tips in a workshop to be held one week before the event," Ms Coultas said.

"They will also be offering effects such as bullet wounds on the day for those who are seeking a more gruesome look.

"It's a lot of fun, although some costumes can be scary for children so parents need to use discretion."

All money raised helps children in Toowoomba.
