Human remains found by accident

A member of the public has stumbled upon human remains in Nerang State Forest yesterday.

Police say the remains were found in what is believed to be an old camp site around 3pm.

Detectives are investigating the discovery and scientific officers have also attended the scene.

Police have yet to determine the identity of the remains but are treating the death as non-suspicious at this point.
