Hugh Jackman reveals close call with skin cancer
HUGH Jackman has taken to Instagram after a mark on his nose was diagnosed as a form of cancer known as basal cell carcinoma.
The actor had the mark checked after being tipped off by his wife, actor Deborra-Lee Furness.
"Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right! I had a basil (sic) cell carcinoma. Please don't be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!

Fans around the world used the opportunity to offer support and amplify the visibility Jackman added to skin cancer awareness.

Basal cell carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer that, while malignant, rarely metastasizes or kills.
