Huge experience for CQ squad

THE BEST Touch players in Australia took on Central Queensland's most talented young players in a trial match at the Briffney Fields on Saturday afternoon.

Queensland's Open State of Origin team did what it should have done to show a clean pair of heels against the inexperienced CQ team, but not without some stern resistance.

Chelsea Baker represented the CQ side which was made up from players as young as 13 years of age.

Coaching director for Central Queensland Linda Paterson said it was a great experience for the girls.

"Sophie Duff, Lilly Peachey, Carly Hill and of course Chelsea were the four from Gladstone,” Paterson said.

"The CQ team will break up into teams under 12, 14 and 16s in the next few weeks for representative duties.”
