How you can help farmers in drought

HORRIFIC conditions have ravished our farming regions with some areas seeing very little rain in the last two to three years, some up to five years.

Dams ran dry a long time ago and tanks are empty.

What you and I take for granted, such as a shower or clean water to drink is a luxury to farmers in the west. They have even resorted to chopping down the weed prickly acacia to feed their stock.

"Let's do it" is the motto Higgins Storm Chasing has been following this week in a drive to bring attention to the severe drought conditions our farmers west of the range are suffering.

The campaign drew many generous donations with more than $50,000 raised so far. This money has already been put to good use with Aussie Helpers getting B-double loads of hay, food parcels and fuel out to far western districts to assist the people who feed our country.

The sad part is this is only a drop in the ocean so Higgins Storm Chasing is going to continue to raise money for our fellow Aussies.

If you would like to help, head over to the Aussie Helpers website and make a small donation.
