Toughen up a look with pretty-punk styling, tattooist's ink

I'LL be the first to say I don't have any tattoos and have no idea what design I would get anyhow.

But that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the concept behind getting a tattoo or the artistic style and effort put into them.

Tattoos are a fairly personal adornment and can be a statement of personality, allegiance or a special memory.

What once used to be a class symbol for soldiers, sailors, bikers and criminals is now readily accessible and acceptable to the wider public.

Some who indulge like theirs to be displayed loud and proud while others prefer to keep them secret, or at least covered for work.

This spread is an example of how a look can take on a different style when the wearer is rocking visible tattoos.

Clothing was used from Shannice Boutique and Emale Lifestyle.
