How times have changed for Bulldogs faithful
AFL: In 1989 Peter Gordon addressed panicked Bulldogs supporters imploring them to dig deep.
Back then it was about the club's survival as they contemplated a merger with Fitzroy in the then VFL.
Fast forward 27 years and Gordon, in his second stint as Bulldogs club chairman, was back in front of the Dogs faithful.
Only this time it was to rally the troops as they prepared for an historic AFL grand final appearance.
In front of a packed Whitten Oval, with fans coming out in their thousands to watch the Bulldogs train, Gordon proclaimed: "This week is for you.”
While he was among those players to train, ruckman Jordan Roughead was to visit an eye specialist today to give him one final all-clear after suffering bleeding in the eye, a result of the ball being kicked into his face, during the preliminary final against the Giants.
