How to do Christmas as an adult (kids don't get all the fun)

Don't miss the incredible Christmas displays on in Brisbane.
Don't miss the incredible Christmas displays on in Brisbane. Marc Grimwade

FANCY a kid-free festive Christmas adventure? This is the guide for you.

We know hanging around kids at the carols isn't for everyone, so we've pulled together a quick guide for those looking for a more adult-only experience around Brisbane City.

DAYTIME:

Get all your Christmas shopping done at the Queen St Mall. You are bound to find something for every special human (or fur baby) in your life. There is a huge range of stores like H&M, Myer, David Jones, Topshop and Zara, plus all the designer labels to satisfy your every desire.

Grab coffee and cake at one of the many cute cafes in the city, for no other reason than you deserve it and it's Christmas time. Then head to the pop-up Christmas Markets which are on at South Bank daily from December 16-23, 11am-12pm with festive treats, handmade goodies and more.

EVENING:

The Christmas Parade marches down Queen Street Mall nightly from 6.30pm from December 16-24, and yes, adults will love it! The Enchanted Garden at Roma Street Parkland is the spot to get in the Christmas spirit with a brand new illuminated spectacle from December 9-18, 6.30-9pm.

If all that festive joy has got you a little thirsty, head to Bar Pacino, Stock Exchange Rooftop Bar or Riverbar to replenish and dance the night away.

Between December 20-23, the Christmas fireworks will shoot over South Bank skies at 7.45pm making a special backdrop for dinner or after-dinner drinks.

LATER:

A 15-minute custom-designed Christmas story will be projected onto City Hall nightly from 7.30-12pm from December 9-24. Plus the Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular will kick off at 11.30pm.

See, the festivities are just as fun as an adult! Check out more here
