Man on the run after alleged stabbing in Tannum Sands

UPDATE: 2.50PM

A MAN is on the run after a stabbing in Tannum Sands this morning.

A 53-year-old woman sustained serious injuries after being stabbed during the incident.

Initial information suggests around 6.45am the woman was stabbed in the neck allegedly by a man at an address on Pleasant Avenue.

The man left the address and is possibly driving an orange 2007 Kia Rio hatchback.

The woman was initially transported to Gladstone Hospital and later airlifted to a Brisbane Hospital.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 183cm tall, in his 20s, with a proportionate build and blonde hair.

Police investigations are continuing.
