Hospital helpers gain assistance from Jazz 'n Shiraz success
A NEW Gladstone Festivals and Events project has raised $500 for the Gladstone Hospital Auxiliary Association.
GFE's ticketed Jazz 'n' Shiraz event at the Gladstone Harbour Festival has raised a dollar from every ticket sold.
The first charity chosen for the donation was the auxiliary, where funds will go towards buying vital equipment for the Gladstone Hospital.
GFE hopes the practice will continue.
Gladstone Hospital Auxiliary Association president Kerry Rose said the hospital provided the auxiliary with a wish list of the items needed most urgently.
"Every penny we raise stays in Gladstone for much-needed equipment for the hospital," she said.
"People like to give to particular wards, but emergency is the area they really need more funding."
GFE co-ordinator Abi Galbraith said they were happy to donate to such a deserving organisation.
Some of the items the Gladstone Hospital Auxiliary Association has helped the Gladstone Hospital pay for in the past few years include:
- Privacy curtains and matching bed covers
- Patient chairs
- Gynaecology chair
- Bariatric wheelchair
- Portable drips
