Parkana a 'potential banana skin'

CLINTON coach Derek Horton labelled Parkana a “potential banana skin” for Gladstone’s green machine ahead of their CQ Premier League away clash tonight.

Parkana have lost two from two this season and are yet to show great pluck, but Horton is wary of the unknown quantity.

“They’ve just got enough to be dangerous; if they get an early goal and get their backs up they can be really dangerous,” he said.

Striker Tom Stephens comes back into the team for the injured Nick Barker and Luke Wakefield will get his first start replacing Brendan Knofski (travel).

Central will be bolstered by the return of key midfielders Garth Lawrie and Matthew Harrison for their clash with competition heavyweight Bluebirds at Webber Park.

Striker Andy Maynard will also be available for the match, and the trio should inject some extra pace into the Central attack.

“We’ve definitely got the speed, agility and passing game to do it,” coach Aaron Jeffery said.
