HORROR VIDEO: Attempted rape at East Shores recorded by 17yo

FAMILY of a Gladstone teen charged with attempted rape were in court when police played mobile phone footage taken during the alleged offending.

They were there to support 18-year-old Ryan James Moore who police allege is seen in the video in which a teenage girl was sexually assaulted, abused, physically attacked and choked about 2.30am at East Shores on June 2.

The video was played in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday during Mr Moore's bail application. QPS prosecutor acting sergeant Merishia Wheatley played the footage allegedly taken by one of Mr Moore's co-accused - a 17-year-old girl.

Mr Moore has been held at Capricornia Correctional Centre since June after he was charged with the offending; one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, attempt to commit rape, robbery while in company, choking, deprivation of liberty and threatening violence.

Mr Moore was represented by defence lawyer Jun Pepito in court who applied for bail for the teen however the Queensland Police Service opposed it.

Police allege the man in the footage is Mr Moore, accompanied by two 17-year-old girls.

The footage shows a man standing over a young girl sitting on a garden bed at East Shores.

The footage lasted for about 30 minutes and showed the man confronting the girl over an issue.

In the footage the man is seen standing over the girl and is heard telling her "shut your f---ing mouth" and "do what you are f---ing told".

He was also heard to say, "See that pretty little nose of yours, it's going to be f---ing sideways across your face,".

The man took the victim's phone and forced her to take off the jumper she was wearing.

"You are so f---ing dead," he is heard to say.

"It's my phone now, b----.

"You better shut your mouth and not say a goddamn thing."

The man is heard to tell his two co-accused "make sure she doesn't move" and "make sure this is on Snapchat".

A co-accused can be heard telling the man "don't hit her", "I'll hit her" and "say hi to the camera".

At one point the footage shows the man reaching into the victim's mouth before pushing her onto her back.

The man is also seen to pull out his genitals and sexually assault the girl.

In the footage the man is seen to pull the girl's head forwards and backwards by her hair several times, hitting her body with his crotch and knees, clasping his hands around her throat and grabbing her chin.

The video shows a co-accused walked over to the victim and punched her in the face.

The footage shows a co-accused zoom in to the victim's face, highlighting the injuries she had received.

At one point the victim tries to walk away but she is dragged back to the garden bed by her hair.

"You f----ing useless piece of s---," the man is heard to say.

"See that purple eye shadow? It is going to be green in the morning I'm going to beat the s--- out of you," the man is heard to say while leaning into the victim's face.

The footage shows the offenders stealing the victim's jewellery, clothing and phone before fleeing the scene.

When the footage was finished playing a silence fell over the courtroom.

Acting Magistrate Mark Morrow described the alleged offending as "serious vileness" and refused the bail application.

"There will be no bail," Mr Morrow said.

"Not after what I have just seen.

"He is looking at 3-4 years in jail for that amount of vileness.

"The strength of the crown case is extremely strong … the evidence is very strong."

Mr Pepito argued his client was young and if released on bail he would move to Surfers Paradise and work on his "behaviour issues".

Mr Pepito said a brief of evidence had been ordered on some of the charges.

On September 3 Mr Moore's charges were committed to stand trial in the District Court.

Mr Morrow said Mr Moore "should serve at least one year behind bars before he even thinks about getting bail".

Mr Moore was remanded in custody and his matters were adjourned to March 17, 2020.
