Builder says housing market has levelled out
AFTER a challenging 12 months, Gladstone's property market is making a comeback, according to one of the town's longest-standing local builders.
More than 15 years of property experience means building company owners Greta Tenheggeler and husband Troy know how the market is heading.
"Today's market is much more realistic and our volume is still better than Brisbane and the Gold Coast," said Mrs Tenheggeler.
"After everything that went on during the boom here, buyers are looking carefully for quality and service and there is some great value around."
Tenheggeler Homes has teamed up with Peet Limited to offer the first house and land package under $400,000 at Peet's Vantage community, in New Auckland.
"We are encouraging locals to come back home to Vantage," Greta said.
"It is such as great family area and so close to everything."
It is a view shared by local real estate specialists Jamie Oliver and Michelle Cox, from Revilo Realty, who have been appointed to market the family orientated community located minutes from the town centre.
"With a recent downward movement in local property prices, we are seeing properties selling for great value for money," Mr Oliver said.
"It's creating significant buyer interest in the Gladstone market, although people are taking their time before deciding to buy."
Lots in three separate releases are for sale at Vantage, offering a choice of 480sqm to 704sqm home sites, with prices ranging from $199,000-$219,000.
