Home invaders greeted with chainsaw and trident

TOWNSVILLE man has told how he chased off two men with a trident and a chainsaw during a home invasion.

Heatley resident Johnny Smith said the two men came into his home last week while he and a friend were playing video games in the living room.

Mr Smith said there was a knock on the door about 9.30pm last Tuesday night and he opened it expecting another friend but instead faced a young man he didn't know.

"He walked in, asked for some guy and I said he didn't live here," Mr Smith said.

"All of a sudden all we heard was the back door opening and another man walked through the back door."
