High-grade bauxite at Binjour
THE competition for alumina global supplies in Australia is heating up with Australian Bauxite Ltd confirming the discovery of good quality bauxite on the Binjour plateau, 170km southwest of Bundaberg.
Australian Bauxite has received all laboratory results from the first pass drilling campaign at its Binjour project south of Gladstone, confirming the discovery of a concealed layer of good quality bauxite.
The bauxite can be processed into alumina at low temperature and is the type that is in short supply globally.
A new exploration permit application has been made to secure the extensions of the deposit at Binjour.
During exploration, an area of several square kilometres was discovered on the Binjour plateau that has a good quality bauxite layer concealed beneath a soft, free-digging overburden layer.
Australian Bauxite Limited is an exploration company that holds the core of the Eastern Australian Bauxite Province with 29 tenements in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.
