Boutique brings some of fashion week's best to Gladstone
CASSANDRA Fisher is challenging people to ignore what they associate with designer and home-based pre-loved clothing businesses.
The owner of Miss Havana Nights pre-loved boutique will host a fashion show this Thursday night displaying the latest trends and styles she nabbed at the Melbourne Fashion Week.
The collection to be modelled is described as classic, corporate and chic clothing, sourced from a Sydney-based designer.
Ms Fisher was one of three stylists from Queensland invited to the event.
She said this season's on-trend styles were forecast to showcase lots of block colouring.
"It's sort of back to basics - think coffee, shades of grey, navy and cobalt blue.
"When you wear these pieces you just feel so good because it's such good fabric."
She was excited to show these items because the collection sold out in Sydney.
"It's really nice to be able to make available designer fashion straight off the runway that's affordable to Gladstone.
"I think people sort of affiliate home-based and pre-loved as day clothing.
"I hand pick the pieces - it is not just anything that comes into the shop.
"Also, people associate designer with expensive," she said.
The pieces being modelled on Thursday night are priced from $60 to $200.
- Tickets are available at the Yacht Club for $20.
- Champagne and canapes are offered on arrival.
- The event is on Thursday, March 27 from 6-8.30pm.
