Hervey Bay police chase beach flasher in Torquay

A MAN exposed himself to beachgoers in Hervey Bay, then led police on a chase through vegetation.

Hervey Bay police said the man had a towel covering himself but pulled it up when people walked past.

The incident happened on Thursday about noon on the beach adjacent to Denmans Camp Rd in Torquay.

A police spokeswoman said the man had exposed himself on the beach before.

"Apparently he was seen a couple of days earlier and no one rang us," she said.

He then left the beach and police followed him through vegetation but couldn't find him.

He is described as being about 50 years old, Caucasian, wearing a baseball cap with a black shirt.
