FRIDAY

Neon roller disco for teens

GLADSTONE PCYC and Diverse will host an underage neon roller disco from 6.30-9pm.

Teens from 12-17 years are invited to this fully supervised event.

Prizes will be awarded for best dressed, and food and drink will be available to buy.

Entry is $2. The event is drug and alcohol free event.

Musical Alice in Wonderland on stage

TOOLOOA State High School students will perform their musical adaptation of Alice in Wonderland this weekend.

The colourful show will hit the stage at the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre for three performances.

A school matinee will be held on Friday from 11am, followed by general public shows at 6pm on Friday and Saturday.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $7.50 for school aged children or $40 for a family of four.

Tickets can be purchase from the school office between 8.30am and 3.30pm.

Multicultural Week continues

AS Gladstone Multicultural Week events power on, Friday's events include an anime film night for young people at Gladstone City Library.

The film Ponyo will screen from 5.30pm.

And Dicey's Bar and Grill will host an Irish Night from 6.30pm.

The annual Multicultural Festival will be held from 9am-3pm on Sunday at the Gladstone Marina parklands.

There will be demonstrations, delicious food and dancing from a range of different countries.

Movie session for parents and kids

MUMS, dads and bubs are invited to come along to the Gladstone cinemas to attend a child-friendly event at 9.30am.

Beach Arts Music at Tannum Sands

BEACH Arts Music will be held from 2-7pm at the Tannum Sands Millennium Esplanade.

Food, clothing jewellery and arts stalls are just some of what the event has to offer.

Variety Old Bags Lunch

THE Variety Old Bags Lunch is a ladies lunch with a twist of fashion and philanthropy, and it's on at the Harvey Rd Tavern on Saturday.

Take an old handbag to donate to a local charity and go home with a brand new one.

Spend the afternoon bidding on handbags via silent auctions or buy tickets to enter the raffle.

Entertainment, guest speakers and fun auction items ensure the lunch is a fundraising event to remember.

Spend a morning with acoustic tunes

CQ Capras vs Sunshine Coast Falcons

CQ Capras will take on the Sunshine Coast Falcons in the final match to be played in Gladstone this season.

The action will take place at Marley Brown Oval, Harvey Rd, Gladstone, from 7pm.

Admission is $10 adults and $5 children.

Disney princess movie festival

THE Disney princess movie festival kicks off at Gladstone Cinemas this weekend.

Princess fans can join Aurora, Pocahontas, Ariel, Snow White and Belle as they come to the big screen this month.

The first movie, Sleeping Beauty, will screen on Saturday and Sunday.

STOCKLAND Gladstone and Parkrun Australia faciliate a unique, community run program that provides free weekly timed 5km running events for people of all ages and abilities every Saturday morning from 7am - 8am at Lions Park.

CQUniversity open day

CQUniversity will host an open day at its Gladstone campus that will have a "mini festival" vibe.

There will be oversized bean bags, plus free slushies and quesadillas.

Visitors of all ages can expect plenty of fun and interactive opportunities, with displays ranging from engineering, education and robotics to hairdressing, healthcare and welding.

Aspiring students will get a chance to "try a trade", with a variety of workshops available throughout the day.

Student advisors, teachers and lecturers will be on hand to give advice and explain application and enrolment opportunities.

Sunday Coffee Cruise

TAKE a cruise around the Gladstone harbour and surrounding island every Sunday and Wednesday on a a Curtis Ferry Services Coffee Cruise.

Enjoy a two-hour cruise with morning tea and commentary on the Gladstone region, while keeping an eye out for turtles, dolphins and dugongs.

Cruises are held 11am-1pm. Bookings are essential and can be made through the Gladstone Visitor Information Centre.

Passengers must collect their ticket from the Information Centre at 72 Bryan Jordan Drive) before departure, and ensure they arrive at Curtis Ferry Services Terminal by 10.45am.

If the Information Centre is closed, tickets and payments can be made from the departure point.

The Sunday Coffee Cruise will run until September 28.

Tickets cost $24 adults, $22 concession and $16 children aged 7-16.

Vegetarian cooking class

LEARN how to cook easy and tasty vegetarian meals for the whole family at the Seventh-Day Adventist Hall on the corner of Tudman and Chapman Sts, West Gladstone.

For $5 a head per person there will be cooking demonstrations, recipe handouts to take home and taste-testing throughout the workshop, which will starts at 2pm.

Sunday session at Yachties

GLADSTONE Yacht Club will have a Sunday session in Yachties Beer Garden with live music by Monster Guitar from 2pm, and great drink specials.

Mark Easton and Adam Hole are slide-guitar masters and will play from 2.30-4.30pm on the lawn.

There will be great drink specials and a great atmosphere to wind-down your weekend.

The Sunday session runs from 2pm to 6pm.
