Helping hands needed for community garden

A BUSY day is planned at Creative Gladstone on Saturday from 8am as volunteers work towards a Christmas event and Community Garden Project.

"All are welcome," maintenance co-ordinator Bob Watson said.

"We have access to the whole block now, and we are going to make the most of it."

Volunteer co-ordinator Marj Cameron will be on site from 8am on Saturday, organising people to work towards cleaning the space and constructing new facilities.

"We are calling for anyone handy with tools like circular saws and cordless drills to help us construct a permanent, long, outdoor table.

"We'll use this for sculpting workshops, gardening and other outdoor activities," Ms Cameron said.

This will get the centre ready for Creative Christmas, an open day on Saturday, December 13, offering unique Christmas gifts created by local artists.

For details on Saturday's working bee or the Community Garden, contact Marj Cameron on 0428 397 262.

A sausage sizzle and drinks will be provided for volunteers.
