Help to plant trees

HELP the Conservation Volunteers revegetate the threatened eco-system at Jaycee Park, Calliope, on National Tree Day this Sunday.

Most of the trees that will be planted were grown by volunteers at the fully functional vegetation nursery based at Tannum Sands.

CV regional manager Pamela MacDonald said the environmental organisation hoped to increase biodiversity along Lexilip Creek.

"A wide variety of natives endemic to this area will certainly add to the biodiversity," she said.

Gladstone Regional Council, Bill Robertson Toyota and Rio Tinto Alcan will join CV in planting trees. CV is asking for all residents who share a love of the outdoors and a commitment to the environment to come along.
