Change may be coming for the Gladstone Foundation fund

GLADSTONE MP Glenn Butcher is hopeful Auditor General Yvette D'Ath can change the way the Gladstone Foundation fund is administered.

Mr Butcher met with Ms D'Ath recently and explained how the Public Trustee, in his opinion, was witholding funding despite the recommendations of the foundation's board of advice.

"I'm hopeful we will see some changes soon, which will mean that our community will start to benefit from the foundation funds, rather than have them sit in an account in Brisbane where the Public Trustee seems to have total control," he said.

There had been some concern that the foundation had been set up as a perpetual trust, but the trust deed is silent on that issue.
