Drink drivers cough up $11,000 in fines in a week

THE actions of 14 drink drivers generated $11,000 in fines last week.

The irresponsibility of Blair Garrett Ryan landed him in hot water after blowing 0.21 on Carinya Dr.

The 18-year-old copped a $1500 fine and a 12 month disqualification.

Kristopher Mitchell McLachlan, 22, was pulled over by police on the Dawson Hwy at Calliope when he registered a BAC reading of 0.143, costing him $1000 and five months without a licence.

Danny Luke Anderson was also caught driving on the Dawson Hwy while over the limit, blowing 0.124.

The 32-year-old man will fork out a $750 fine and is banned from getting behind the wheel for six months.

The list of mid range drink drivers this week also included Adam Roy Alexander, who recorded 0.137 and Rhys John Crowley who blew 0.103.

They received fines of $700 and $600 respectively.

Terry John Rogers, Andrew David Williams and Michael Charles Hartup all recorded mid range readings and will pay $1950 in fines between them.

Mathew John Horner, 34, did not supply a specimen of breath when he was pulled over on Dixon Dr, resulting in the largest fine of $2000.

His licence was disqualified for 15 months.
