WHILE staff at Gladstone's Robins Kitchen store are staying quiet as administrators scrutinise the country-wide company, disgruntled customers are getting angry that lay-bys and gift vouchers won't be honoured.

Customers lose as Robins Kitchen goes into administration

Shoppers are being warned about purchasing gift cards from Robins Kitchen, which went into administration on Tuesday, but online readers tell The Observer that gift cards are still being sold in store.

While managers at the Gladstone store say the situation isn't as grim as it's being made out to be, the family of staff are worrying about whether they'll have jobs after Christmas.

But the chain's woes aren't slowing down shoppers who were still keen to catch a bargain on Wednesday - the "up to 70% off" sale was bringing a constant stream of bargain-hunters through its doors.

FTI Consulting, which is handling the company's public relations, won't make any further comment until after Christmas, but customers who have vouchers and lay-bys have been asked to file a claim via email to robinskitchen@fticonsulting.com.
