Moondogging at Rocky Glen

MOONDOGS Gypsy Blues Band is back on the road out of Cairns with new songs from just-released album Bent N Twisted. The two-piece will play at the Rocky Glen Hotel Motel in Gladstone from 3pm this Sunday.

Frontman Moondog moved from New Zealand a decade ago. He uses a variety of guitars including slide and resonators, along with harp to complement his trademark growling vocals.

Kate Le Jam aka 'Tinkerbell' brings a quirky sense of fun, vitality and sometimes raw emotion to the show on her stand-up drum kit, cajone and percussion.

She is one of the very few stand-up kit drummers around. "How the hell do you sit down and play the drums?" she laughed.

Kate and Moondog joined forces in 2008 and have made appearances at Cairns Blues and Newcastle Jazz festivals, Queensland Festival of Blues, Palm Creek Folk Festival and Carnival on Collins.
