Hazard burns planned for Moura

THE Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) will be conducting several hazard reduction burns in the Moura area on September 1, from 9am.

Four parcels of land are set to be burned.

These include:

- Land located between the Dawson Highway, Nobbs St, Rodger St and Hicks St.

- A vacant block on Gillespie St.

- Land at Herzog St and Widderick St.

- Land on Moura and Theodore Rd, opposite the cemetery.

Smoke will be seen in the area as a result.

Residents with respiratory issues or medical conditions that may be affected are reminded to keep doors and windows closed and have medication nearby.

Residents are advised to take care when driving, particularly if visibility is reduced by smoke.

Traffic conditions, including speed limits, may be altered and drivers are reminded to stay alert.

There will be a number of QFRS crews working in the area.

For more information contact QFRS Moura Captain Patrick Hollands on 0488 737 894.
