Have a ball and assist great kids at annual Variety gala

MARK and Karen Gregory are encouraging Gladstone residents to don their sequins and suits for the annual Gladstone Variety Gala Ball.

Not only will it be a fabulous night of dazzle and delight - with live entertainment, swoon-worthy auction prizes and dinner and drinks - but it all goes to a worthy cause.

The local jewellers, from Neville Gregory Leading Edge Jeweller, have donated exquisite pieces to help "such an amazing cause".

"Each year someone gets up and talks about how Variety helps them," said Mr Gregory.

"You realise how it all helps."

Although the event was postponed last year, Variety Queensland regional fundraising executive Michelle Stafford said it was back bigger than ever for its 12th year.

In past years, the event has raised in excess of $70,000, which goes to help children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.

The funds help children to live, laugh and learn by providing practical equipment, programs and experiences.

The first ball of the year will be held on Saturday, May 31.

Tickets, for $150, are on sale until Friday, May 23, so secure a seat at http://www.variety.org.au/gladstoneball.
